Industrial and environmental changes are inevitable, as are shifts in both commodities and modes of transport within the logistics segment. Through the collaborative efforts of MIBRAG, LOCON and EP CARGO, the switch from coal by rail to gas supply was prepared and completed on the last day of 2023. The very last coal delivery was carried out in a very special historical way, by a steam locomotive Ludmila and a class 66 engine – indeed the loco types that have been used the last decades to secure the coal supply.
From now on, coal will be replaced by gas, allowing us to use the rail transport capabilities of our team and equipment in innovative and more efficient intermodal ways. We are excited to unveil more details in the coming weeks. Just follow the story..
